Holy Cross Celebrates Women's History Month

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross has planned the following events in March to celebrate Women's History Month:

Monday, March 22 at 4 p.m. - Joyce A. O'Shaughnessy, M.D, will give a lecture entitled "Understanding and Preventing Breast Cancer" in the Browsing Room of Dinand Library.  This is the First Annual Katherine A. Henry '86 Memorial Lecture Series on Women's Health Issues.  O'Shaughnessy is a 1978 graduate of Holy Cross.

Tuesday, March 23 at 4 p.m. - Kelley Conway, a performance poet, will give a presentation in celebration of women in Room 407 of the Hogan Campus Center.

Thursday, March 25 at 7 p.m. - Jane Elliott, a nationally known race relations expert, will give a lecture entitled "The Anatomy of Prejudice" in the Ballroom of the Hogan Campus Center.

Monday, March 29 at 4 p.m. - Diane Dujon and Ann Withorn, two important voices in the fight for genuine welfare reform, will give a lecture entitled "Charting a New Course: Building a Movement for Economic Justice" in the Faculty Room of Dinand Library.  This is the final lecture in the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (CISS) series "Option for the Poor in the Era of Welfare Reform."

Sponsored by the CISS Women's Studies Program, the Women's Forum and other campus organizations, admission is free and open to the public.
