Author John Feinstein to Sign Books at Holy Cross Basketball Game

WORCESTER, Mass. – John Feinstein, best-selling author of "The Last Amateurs: Playing for Glory and Honor in Division 1 Basketball," a book about Patriot League basketball, will be at Holy Cross on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the men's basketball home opener. He will be available for book signing before the game and at half time. The basketball game, versus Dartmouth College, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Hart Center.

The Holy Cross men's basketball team takes center stage in "The Last Amateurs," which chronicles the 1999-2000 season through the eyes of the student-athletes. Feinstein's focus in the book is the refreshing aspect of the Patriot League—with its strict emphasis on academics first, hardwood second—as opposed to the high-stakes basketball world of other Division 1 leagues.

The book is currently on display at the College Bookstore and will be available at the game for purchase.

Feinstein is a commentator on ESPN's "The Sports Reporters" and a columnist for both the Washington Post and Golf Magazine. He is the author of a number of best-selling sports books including, "A Season on the Brink," 'The Majors" and "A Good Walk Spoiled."
