Race and Gender Relations Expert Peggy McIntosh to Speak at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Peggy McIntosh, a nationally recognized expert on race and gender relations, will deliver a lecture on "White Privilege" on Monday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Hogan Campus Center. The lecture is free and open to the public. McIntosh is associate director of the Wellesley College Center for Research on Women. She is founder and co-director of the United States S.E.E.D. Project on Inclusive Curriculum (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity). She consults widely in the U.S. and throughout the world with college and school faculty who are creating more gender-fair and multicultural curricula. McIntosh's visit is part of Unity Week at Holy Cross. The goal of this week is to bring Holy Cross closer as a community and to provide opportunities to celebrate diversity on campus. This lecture is sponsored by the Counseling Center, Deans' Office, Provost's Office, President's Office, Student Affairs, Multicultural Education, Campus Activities Board, and Academic Services and Learning Resources.
