The Holy Cross College Choir Presents...

Mozart's "Requiem"

The Holy Cross College Choir will hold its annual Spring Concert on Friday, April 27, at 8 p.m. in the St. Joseph Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Jesuits' New England Province. The two musical selections will be the "Requiem" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the "Five Mystical Songs" by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The College Choir will be assisted by four well-known professional soloists and the St. James Chamber Orchestra. Bruce I. Miller will conduct.

English baritone Leon Berger, who has sung in concert and opera throughout Europe and featured in both works, is making his United States debut with this performance. Joining Berger for the "Requiem" will be alumna Kristyn Snyer '90 (soprano), mezzo soprano Majie Zeller and tenor Ray Bauwens.

The College Choir is comprised of 70 mixed voices. As the College's concert and touring chorus, the group maintains a vigorous schedule, including performances with orchestral accompaniment of major choral masterworks as well as lighter music. Recently the Choir has sung in the Vatican for His Holiness Pope John Paul II. They have also performed with the Boston Pops.
