Don't miss Rob Paravonian's "Pop Music Satire"

Comedian and musician Rob Paravonian will give a concert at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, in Crossroads, located in the basement of the Hogan Campus Center. Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, the concert is free and open to the public

Paravonian writes and performs comedy and music and is a regular at New York stand-up clubs. He also tours the country playing colleges and comedy clubs. Paravonian has released three CDs, "Don't Crowd the Plow," "Playing for Drunks" and "American Cheese," all on Xenolith Records.

Paravonian taught himself guitar and bass and began playing in bands while in high school. In college, he began comedy and soon after, studied improvisation and ensemble work at Chicago's Second City Theater.

He has appeared on Comedy Central, VH1 and has written cartoon theme songs. His songs have been played on the nationally syndicated radio show, "Dr. Demento." This fall, Paravonian is scheduled to appear on Comedy Central's stand-up showcase, "Premium Blend."
