Writer Patricia Powell to Lecture at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Writer Patricia Powell will give a reading on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 4:30 p.m. in the Browsing Room of Dinand Library. The reading is free and open to the public.

Powell is author of the critically acclaimed "The Pagoda: A Novel." According to The Boston Sunday Globe, this work is "an astonishing novel with an intricate, intimate, constantly surprising plot … Powell is a novelist of great talent."

Born in Jamaica, Powell emigrated to the United States at age 16. She earned her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and her master's degree from Brown University. She has also written "Me Dying Trial" and "A Small Gathering of Bones."
