Christian Rock Musician Sean Forrest to Perform at Holy Cross

Christian rock musician Sean Forrest will give a concert at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, in Crossroads, located in the basement of the Hogan Campus Center. Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, the concert is free and open to the public. Forrest began his career performing local concerts in his hometown of East Longmeadow, Mass. As his fame grew, he moved on to perform at celebrity gigs, and by age 28, he made enough money to retire to the Connecticut shore.

However, Forrest realized that he had everything the world could offer - except faith. Raised a Baptist, Forrest turned in to his Christian roots and changed his life. The songs he began to write were no long party music, but songs with a spiritual bent.

Eventually, Forrest converted to Catholicism and was hired as the youth minister for a Catholic church near his home. He wrote a book about his conversion experience, titled "From Happy Hour to Holy Hour."

Currently, he is president of the youth ministry, "Movin' With the Spirit," concentrating on teen-agers, the elderly and the disabled, offering various parish retreats.

Forrest has released four albums, "Talk of the Town," "Gonna Need a Hand," "Sailed my Boat" and "Can't Look Back." He has played at the Christian Woodstock, "The Inside Out Soul Festival" in New Hampshire.
