WORCESTER, Mass. – Approximately 20 Holy Cross students will participate in the annual holiday Band Outreach Program on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at three homes for the elderly in Worcester.
Made up of some members of the Holy Cross "Goodtime" Pep Band, the student group will travel with their instruments to St. Mary's Health Care Center, Clark Manor and Mt. Carmel to play a mixture of holiday carols and classic tunes. Members of the band have been making these visits annually for the past 10 years.
The students will stay about 45 minutes at each location, taking the time to talk and interact socially with the residents. The group plays interactive games with the residents, and invites their musical participation by providing tambourines and sleigh bells.
