"Dr. Awkward" to Perform at Holy Cross

The band "Dr. Awkward" will perform a concert on Saturday, April 6, at 10 p.m. in Crossroads. Made up of three Holy Cross alumni, Tim Delaney '98, Ken DoRosario '97 and Tim Lyons '99, Dr. Awkward is returning to its College roots to put on a free show. Don't miss it!

Dr. Awkward is made up of six Boston-area musicians who play music that is described as "distilled funk, soul, hip-hop, pop and jazz in a powerful, groove-focused rock-making machine."

DoRosario takes the lead on vocals with help from singer/guitarist Delaney - the duo has been collaborating together since their days on the Hill, and their unique vocal and harmonic stylings are not to be missed. Fellow HC alumnus Lyons complements them on the guitar.

Keyboardist Mai Mochida, bassist Jon Reese and drummer/percussionist Dave Fox round out the band's sound.

Dr. Awkward has released three CDs, "Butterstuff" (March 1999), "Foam Unit" (March 2000, Live) and "VERY" (June 2001). With influences ranging from the Beach Boys to Lenny Kravitz, VERY showcases the band's creative evolution. They are currently on tour, playing the Boston college scene and local night clubs.

The band has recently landed its newest single, "Drugs Are On the Way," in the new independent film "To Be John Woo."
