Talk at Holy Cross on the Christian "Works vs. Grace" Controversy

Lee Oser, an associate professor of English at Holy Cross, will give a lecture titled, "Salvation by Works or Grace: A Christian Controversy," on Saturday, June 8, at 3:30 p.m. The talk will be held in Room 201 of Smith Hall and is free and open to the public.

The lecture will provide an historical and philosophical overview of the works-grace controversy, with reference to Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, Luther, Calvin and John Paul II.

Oser has taught in the College's English department since 1998 and is an Edward Bennett Williams Fellow. He is the author of "T.S. Elliot and American Poetry," and is currently working on two book projects.
