Peace and Conflict Studies Events at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross' Peace and Conflict Studies Program announces its October calendar of events. Both events are free and open to the public.

Wednesday, October 9 4:00 p.m., Rehm Library, Smith Hall Civil rights activist Dr. Bernard LaFayette will deliver a lecture. Dr. LaFayette is a national authority on nonviolence education . He currently serves as Distinguished-Scholar-In-Residence and director of the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies at the University of Rhode Island.

Thursday, October 24 4:00 p.m., Rehm Library, Smith Hall Dr. Svetlana Broz, granddaughter of former Yugoslavian president Josip Broz Tito, will present a lecture titled "The Fall of Yugoslavia and the War in Bosnia." Dr. Broz is the author of Good People in an Evil Time, a book that chronicles her time spent working as a physician during the Bosnian War. This event is co-sponsored by the College's history department.
