Holy Cross to Host Ice Hockey Program for Deaf Youth

WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross and Midstate Youth Hockey will be offering the DEAFinitely Skate Hockey Program for deaf children over the age of four at the Hart Recreation Center ice rink. Skaters of all levels are invited. Instruction will be in American Sign Language (ASL).

The program will feature instruction by former deaf Canadian women's hockey player Christine Whitney and former deaf Olympic hockey player Josh Tripi. Holy Cross hockey players, students and community volunteers will also provide instruction.

Lessons will be on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. The first session begins on Oct. 26 and runs until Dec. 21.

Registration will take place on October 26, at 8:30 a.m. in the Hart Recreation Center ice rink. The cost of the program is $65. Financial aid is available.
