Russian Lawyer to Discuss Moscow Hostage Crisis at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – On Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. in room 406 of the Hogan Campus Center, Satsita Murodova will give a lecture titled "Russia's War on Terrorism? The Conflict in Chechnya."

A lawyer and legal scholar trained at Chechen State University in Groznyi, Murodova worked for the local courts in Chechnya, in the administration of the Chechen president, and for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before joining the Russian human rights organization Memorial, as a lawyer. She will discuss the recent hostage crisis in Moscow in light of the eight-year war for independence in Chechnya.
