Holy Cross Receives $1 Million Grant from The Goizueta Foundation

WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross recently received a $1 million grant from The Goizueta Foundation of Atlanta, Ga. The grant will fund the Bridge Program, a special mentoring program open to ALANA (African-, Latino/a-, Asian-, Native American) students, and create a scholarship endowment specifically for Latino/a students.

The Goizueta Foundation, which aims to support educational programs that promote sustainable change and have a long-term impact in the community, has awarded the College a $632, 910 grant for the establishment of the Bridge Program for ALANA Students. Over the next three years, the grant will allow for approximately 50 ALANA students annually to participate in the Bridge Program, which intends to ease the transition from high school to Holy Cross for ALANA and certain majority students. The program will consist of a three-week summer session, a first-year mentoring program and a January retreat.

An additional $367, 090 was granted for the establishment of The Goizueta Foundation Scholars Fund for Financially Needy Latino/a Students.

The Goizueta Foundation grant is part of the College's "Lift High the Cross Campaign," which aims to support the intellectual, personal, physical, moral and religious development of Holy Cross students.
