Organ Concert at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – There will be an organ concert on Sunday, January 19 at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Joseph Memorial Chapel at the College of the Holy Cross. The concert is free and open to the public. St. Joseph Chapel is handicap accessible.

As part of the Holy Cross Chapel Artists Series, the concert will feature organist David Boe. The program will include North German Baroque works for organ.

David Boe has been a professor of organ at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music since 1963. He was a student of Helmut Walcha, Arthur Poister and Gustav Leonhardt. He has recorded extensively and has performed in concerts throughout the United States and Europe. Boe recently played the dedication concerts of the new C.B. Fisk organ in Finney Chapel, built in the style of Artiside Cavaille-Coll at Oberlin College, as soloist with the Oberlin Orchestra and in recital. He was the dean of the Oberlin Conservatory for 15 years and served as director of music at the First Lutheran Church of Lorain, Ohio, for over forty years.
