Leonard Sulski Memorial Concert to Take Place at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Leonard Sulski Memorial Concert will be held in Brooks Music Hall at the College of the Holy Cross on Friday, Jan. 31 from 8 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

Featuring violist Peter Sulski, of the Holy Cross music department; Russian pianist Vladimir Odinokikh; Brazilian percussionist Fabio Olivera; and American mezzo soprano Jane Hanson, the concert will include Michael Colgrass' "Variations for four drums and viola," sonatas for viola and piano by Johannes Brahms and Paul Hindemith, and songs for voice, viola and piano by Frank Bridge and Johannes Brahms.

Peter Sulski is the son of the late Leonard C. Sulski who taught in the mathematics department at Holy Cross from 1965 until his death from leukemia in 1991. He recently returned to the United States after serving for two years as bicommunal chamber music coordinator for the Fulbright Commission in Cyprus. He was a member of the London Symphony Orchestra for seven years and toured with the Apple Hill Chamber Players for four years. He has been on the faculties at Royal College and Trinity College of Music, both in London, and at Clark University. He has recorded 14 compact discs.
