Bari Koral to perform at Crossroads

On tour to promote her recently released compact disc "Joy," singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist Bari Koral will perform in Crossroads Pub at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8.

A performer since the age of 13, Koral's music is strongly influenced by prominent female artists such as Chrissie Hynde and Patti Smith. Her music has since been compared to that of Ani DiFranco, Shawn Colvin, Jewel and Fiona Apple.

Comprised of smart pop hooks and thoughtful lyrics, "Joy" has received critical praise from music magazines and daily newspapers around the country, including spotlight coverage in Billboard Magazine. Songs from "Joy" have been used in NBC's hit show Providence, the independent feature film The Liar's Club, and on Oprah Winfrey's Oxygen Network.

During her "Joy" promotional tour, Koral has opened for major acts including Joan Osborne, Lisa Loeb and Lenny Kravitz.

This event is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB).
