Fifth Annual Ballroom Dance Competition at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Several hundred college students will compete in the fifth annual Holy Cross Ballroom Dance Competition in the Ballroom of the Hogan Campus Center on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; doors open at 8 a.m. The event is open to spectators; door price is $10 for the general public, $7 for senior citizens and free for children and college students with a valid school ID.

Team and individual competitions at all skill levels will be held and ribbons will be awarded to the top dancers. The event features exotic costumes and a wide variety of music and dance. The categories include waltz, tango, quick-step, cha-cha, mambo, swing, rhumba, bolero, foxtrot, jive, samba, paso doble, and Vieneese Waltz. Time permitting, there will be two fun dances, in which all competitors may compete. In addition to Holy Cross, the following colleges are expected to field competitors: WPI, UConn, MIT, and Northeastern.
