CAB presents Celtic Rock Band Black 47

Celtic rock band Black 47 will perform in the Ballroom on Friday, March 14 at 10 p.m.

Known for their unique style and highly political lyrics, Black 47's sound is a blend of rock, reggae, hip-hop and traditional Irish music. Since the release of their first single, "Funky Ceili," in 1993, the band has recorded eight full-length CDs.

Black 47 has been profiled in several major magazines including Time, People and Entertainment Weekly. They have also been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today and The Los Angeles Times.

In addition to their appearance in the Matt Dillon and Danny Glover film, The Saint of Fort Washington, they have also starred in their own television special, Black 47 with the Trinity Irish Dancers, which airs regularly on PBS.

This event is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB).
