Workshop on Conscientious Objection at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – A workshop on conscientious objection in the Catholic tradition, titled "War, Peace and Conscientious Objection," will take place at the College of the Holy Cross on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the Rehm Library. The workshop is free and open to the public.

Led by Brenna Cussen '02 and Fr. Michael Baxter, C.S.C., of the Catholic Peace Fellowship, this workshop is designed for students looking to understand more about conscientious objection, and also to train chaplains, high school teachers, guidance counselors, youth ministers, priests, and all those in the Worcester Catholic diocese involved with youth to be conscientious objection counselors, and to be knowledgeable about the major Church teaching on this issue.

The Catholic Peace Fellowship was recently revived to educate about the issues of Catholic teaching on war, peace, and conscientious objection, and to support those considering becoming conscientious objectors.

This workshop is cosponsored by the Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture; peace and conflict studies; and the College Chaplains.
