Lecture on Alternative Depression Treatments at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Namni Goel, assistant professor of psychology, neuroscience and behavior at Wesleyan University, will deliver the annual Katherine A. Henry '86 Memorial Lecture on Thursday, March 27, at 4 p.m. in the Rehm Library at Holy Cross. The lecture, titled "Alternative Treatments for Seasonal and Nonseasonal Depression," is free and open to the public.

Namni Goel earned her Ph.D. in biological psychology from the University of Michigan. Her current research interests include bright light and negative ion treatment for nonseasonal depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). She is also researching the effects of various sensory stimuli on human circadian rhythms, sleep and mood.

This lecture is part of the Katherine A. Henry '86 Memorial Lecture Series on Women's Health Issues. Henry's parents endowed the lecture series in memory of their daughter who died in 1997.
