Holy Cross Hosts Career Awareness Program for Deaf High School Students

WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross will host "It's YOUR Future: A Career Exploration Program for Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing," on Saturday, May 10 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the Hogan Campus Center. Registration is required. The cost is $10 per person; $20 maximum per family. American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English interpreters will be provided.

"It's YOUR Future" is a career exploration, awareness and transition program for Massachusetts high school students and their parents, guardians, teachers or counselors. The keynote address will be given by Heidi Reed, commissioner of the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Workshops will be led by special guests from the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. Group sessions, panel discussions and speakers will cover a variety of issues regarding college and career choices following high school.

This program is sponsored by the College of the Holy Cross Deaf Studies Program, the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Center (MRC), the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the Northeast Technical Assistance Center (NETAC), the Massachusetts State Association for the Deaf and the Mass Relay Service.
