French Theater Group Presents Molière amoureux (Molière in Love) at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – On Wednesday, October 8 at 7 p.m., Continent II, a French theater group based in Paris, will perform Molière amoureux in room 519 of the Hogan Campus Center at Holy Cross. Tickets are $3 for Holy Cross students and $5 for the general public.

Molière amoureux is composed of excerpts from Molière's plays and draws a parallel between his work and his life. Molière was the leading French comic actor, stage director, and dramatic theoretician of the 17th century.

Although the performance will be in French, excerpts have been selected for their accessibility to high school and college level students. Even with limited comprehension of French language, audience members will be able to understand the plots.

The performance will include scenes from Le Médecin Volant, Les Précieuses ridicules, Le Dépit amoureux, L'Ècole des femmes, Dom Juan, Le Misanthrope, Les Femmes savantes, and Le Malade imaginaire.
