Poetry Reading By Emily Hiestand

Author and poet Emily Hiestand will give a reading of her work on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Levis Browsing Room (Dinand Library).

Emily Hiestand has written two books of essays - The Very Rich Hours: Travels in Orkney, Belize, the Everglades and Greece and Angela the Upside Down Girl: And Other Domestic Travels - and a book of poems, Green the Witch Hazel Wood, which was a winner in the National Poetry Series and was selected by U.S. Poet Laureate Jorie Graham. Hiestand has been an editor at Orion magazine and now is a contributing writer to the Atlantic Monthly.

Hiestand's reading is sponsored by the English department.
