"World History: Past, Present and Future"

Lecture by Patrick Manning, Director of the World History Center at Northeastern University

Patrick Manning, director of the World History Center at Northeastern University, will give a lecture on Tuesday, March 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Rehm Library. His lecture, titled “World History: Past, Present and Future,” is free and open to the public.

Manning is a professor of history and African-American studies at Northeastern University. Trained as an economic historian of Africa, he specializes in demographic history (particularly the Atlantic slave trade), social and cultural history of Africa, African diaspora and world history.

The author of numerous journal articles, chapters, and books, he most recently published Navigating World History: Historians Create a Global Past, a critical overview of the field of world history.
