"Nueva Espana: 17th Century Spanish Music in the New World"

Featuring the Holy Cross Chamber Singers and the Nativity School of Worcester Boychoir

The Holy Cross Chamber Singers will present a concert, titled "Nueva Espana: 17th Century Spanish Music in the New World," featuring the Nativity School of Worcester Boychoir on Wednesday, March 31 at 8 p.m. in St. Joseph Memorial Chapel.

Directed by John Delorey, the Holy Cross Chamber Singers is composed of a select group of 17 singers chosen from the membership of the College Choir. Some of its performances are given in conjunction with the College Choir. Other performances are separate and include appearances in off-campus concerts, academic convocations and conferences, and campus concerts of literature specifically written for smaller groups.

The Chamber Singers have performed with Kenny Rogers and at Fenway Park. Wednesday marks the first collaborative performance between the Chamber Singers and the Nativity School of Worcester Boychoir. Under the leadership of Peter Stolzfus, choir director at All Saints Church in Worcester, the boys have choir practice once a week and also practice choral pieces during music class. They performed publicly at Holy Cross during Winter Convocation 2004 in February.
