Senior Art Exhibition to be Displayed at Holy Cross' Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery at the College of the Holy Cross presents Project 11: Works from the Senior Concentration Seminar, from April 27 through May 28, 2004. An opening reception for artists will be held on Friday, April 30, from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Cantor Art Gallery. The gallery will be closed Saturday, May 15 and Saturday, May 22.

Each spring semester the Cantor Art Gallery mounts an exhibition of work by graduating seniors enrolled in the Senior Concentration Seminar offered by the Visual Arts Department/Studio Art Faculty. The two-semester course is designed to provide students the unique opportunity to work for extended periods of time, producing artwork that reflects their own vision and technical abilities.

The course allows students access to private studio space, opportunities to visit museums and artist’s studios and to have their work reviewed by contemporary visiting artists. The Senior Concentration Seminar culminates with a professional level exhibition in the Cantor Art, where each student presents their body of work.

Project 11 includes works by: Jonathan Acocella, Katherine Daly, Matthew Petricone, Natalie Willett, Rachelle Beaudoin, Elizabeth Hamilton, Michael Sandstrom, Heather Yanusas, Jennifer Corsilli, Jessica Maturo, and Kiara Upshaw.

Student presentations in conjunction with the exhibition will be held at the Cantor Art Gallery on Wednesday, April 28, at 12 p.m.

The hours for the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery are Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Saturday, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Closed, Saturday, May 15 and Saturday, May 22.
