Koren Zailckas, Author of Current Bestseller, to Give Talk at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Koren Zailckas, author of the New York Times bestseller Smashed: Story of a Drunken Girlhood, will give a talk on March 30 at 7 p.m. in Suites B and C of the Hogan Campus Center at the College of the Holy Cross. Zailckas will answer questions and sign books. The event is free and open to the public.

In Smashed, 24-year-old Zailckas candidly describes her struggle with alcohol — how she started to drink at 14, suffered alcohol poisoning at 16 and lost her virginity in a blackout at 19. At 22, she quit drinking.

Smashed has garnered national media attention from CNN, USA Today, People and The Nation, among others.

Zailckas, who graduated from Syracuse University, is a native of Bolton, a town in Worcester County.

The event is sponsored by the department of athletics, Wellness Programming, Counseling Center and Health Services.
