Local media were on hand as the College of the Holy Cross celebrated its 165th Commencement on Friday, May 27, 2011. Degrees were conferred on 691 graduates before an estimated 6,000 people.

Many students in the class of 2011 chose to work for service organizations. Fourteen students joined Teach for America. Recent graduate Frankie Santana tells NECN/Channel 3 that he has always wanted to give back to the community.  “I know what I have to do. I know my task at hand and I’m excited about it.  I really enjoy teaching.”

Through Teach for America, Melissa Glynn ’11, will be teaching students with disabilities in Houston, Texas.
