"Airport Impact Study Raises Questions"

Worcester Business Journal

In a Worcester Business Journal article, Victor Matheson, associate professor of economics at the College of the Holy Cross, weighs in on the methodology used in an economic impact study of Worcester Regional Airport.

The article questions the study's use of the "multiplier effect," among other things.  Matheson told the reporter that "the multiplier effect the study uses appears rather large. Normally, multiplier effects are in the two to two-and-a-half range, he said. Having a multiplier of about four 'seems high.'"
