'Internships Provide Benefits For Students And Employers'

Worcester Business Journal

In a Worcester Business Journal cover story on the benefits of internships for both interns and employers, Pamela Ahearn, associate director of career planning at the College of the Holy Cross, emphasizes the importance of internship experiences in today’s competitive job market.

“You hear more and more that internships are no longer just a nice thing for students to have on their resume,” Ahearn said.

“Last summer, 44 percent of Holy Cross interns were paid by their employers,” continued Ahearn, who oversees the summer internship program, “and most of the rest received stipends or grants through a combination of funding from alumni groups, endowments, businesses and other programs.”
