Reppucci '14 Receives Fellowship to Study Russian in Intensive Language Program at Middlebury

Fresh off his return from Russia where he was involved in a community-building project, Jeffrey Reppucci '14, of Newburyport, Mass., is currently studying Russian in an intensive language program at Middlebury College. He is among 100 recipients of a Kathryn Davis Fellowship for Peace which addresses today's critical need for increased language proficiency in the United States.

The Davis Fellowships are merit-based and intended for exceptionally qualified individuals with demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: international, global, or area studies; international politics and economics; peace and security studies; and/or conflict resolution. The grant covers the full comprehensive fee (tuition, room, and board) of summer language study.

Recognized as one of the world's best Russian language programs, Reppucci is enrolled in the eight-week program at the Kathryn Wasserman Davis School of Russian at Middlebury.

A Russian major, Reppucci's passion for the language started in the classroom at Holy Cross. Last summer, he took part in the first-ever summer study abroad program in Russia. And earlier this summer, Reppucci returned to Russia on a Davis Projects for Peace award to build recreational facilities and promote healthy life choices for children at a local school in a small rural area called Suzdal, about six hours east of Moscow.

Reppucci is a defenseman on the Holy Cross men’s ice hockey team.
