Holy Cross Named a ‘Best College’ by Princeton Review

The College of the Holy Cross is one of the country"s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review’s annual college guide, “The Best 377 Colleges.”  Schools included in the 2013 edition of the guide—which were selected according to several criteria including academics, cost, and financial aid—represent the top 15% of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges.

Noting the strength of Holy Cross’ academics, The Princeton Review says courses are “rigorous, and the main priority of students on campus,” and the faculty and administration foster “an incredible learning environment for students.” Emphasizing that students are “more than a number in the classroom,” the guide cites the dedication and accessibility of faculty who “get to know [students] on an individual and personal level.”

“Holy Cross equips their students with an intangible set of skills that not only prepares them for a job, but for life,” one student told The Princeton Review.

Also highlighted were Holy Cross’ “fantastic alumni network,” “strong student life,” “exceptionally beautiful campus,” “uncommonly friendly” students, and superior science programs and undergraduate research opportunities.

In addition to “The Best 377 Colleges,” Holy Cross is included in The Princeton Review’s “Guide to 322 Green Colleges,” a separate guidebook released in the spring that features the “nation’s most environmentally responsible ‘green colleges.’”
