NAME LiAnn Butterfield ’16

HOMETOWN Northport, N.Y.

STUDIES SHE’S CONSIDERING English with a concentration in creative writing

WHY SHE CHOSE HOLY CROSS “My guidance counselor was an alumna and she absolutely loved it here, so I took the trip up for a multicultural weekend event, and then for a prospective students weekend. Each time I felt welcome and the campus was alive and thriving.”

ACTIVITIES Crusader student newspaper, equestrian team, cheerleading squad, student mentors

WHAT SHE’S MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO “Taking classes I wouldn’t otherwise have had the opportunity to look into, meeting new people, competing with the equestrian team, football games with the cheer squad, and exploring the area with friends.”

WHY SHE’S BLOGGING “I love being able to look back, so it’s personally rewarding to log the time I’ve spent. College is such an important time in life, and I want to remember all it offered. At the same time, I remember being a junior in high school having no idea what college would be like, so I’m hoping this helps prospective students out there.”
