‘As drone use increases, even locally, privacy concerns persist’

Ward Thomas, professor of political science, added to the national conversation about increases in domestic drone use in a recent piece in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. Thomas says that while the implications of the potential invasion of citizens’ privacy by the drones are “revolutionary,” there is a blurring of the line between private and public activity.

“What gets defined as an unreasonable search and seizure under the Fourth Amendment?” asked Thomas. “There's a broad range of possibilities where information would be gathered that couldn't be obtained before.”
