‘Redesigned Holy Cross dining hall offers new options’

The Worcester Telegram & Gazette recently visited the College of the Holy Cross for the soft opening of the newly renovated Kimball Main Dining Hall, which will have its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. Built in 1932, Kimball underwent its first renovation in more than 20 years, still maintaining original elements that have been there since its opening, like its dining tables. Kimball serves about 2,200 students a day and remains dedicated to Holy Cross Dining’s commitment to locally sourced products, with 20 percent of all dining products currently grown and produced in the area, reports T&G correspondent, Barbara Houle.

Beyond its physical renovations, a variety of food options and stations have been integrated into the space, working to meet students’ expectation of  high-caliber and diverse food. “Kimball's renovated space and new menus certainly meet the criteria,” writes Houle.“Everyone appeared very happy with the new menus featuring world cuisine, brick-oven pizza, a super-food-inspired station, handcrafted deli sandwiches and made-to-order-style cooking.”
