Raquel Scott '16 and Sean Wilkinson '16 have mastered the balance of being a Division I athlete and a student at Holy Cross. Both students have been included on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll multiple times, as well as named to the Academic All-Patriot League teams for their respective sports. The demands of their athletic and academic commitments have led both students to thrive.
“I think my favorite part about being a student-athlete is all the lessons I’ve learned about life throughout the process,” says Scott. “I remember my strength and conditioning coach freshman year told me, ‘That in order to succeed as a Division I athlete we would have to get comfortable being uncomfortable.’ That quote has really stuck with me not only as an athlete, but also as a student and a person in general. I’ve learned a lot about myself and have definitely grown as a person due to my experience as an athlete.”
