Holy Cross Faculty Produce Impressive Array of Professional Work

"As we approach the end of another academic year, I am struck by how much we have accomplished this year and how much we have to celebrate," said Margaret Freije, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College, during her address to faculty at the close of the spring semester.

Holy Cross faculty members are not only excellent teachers and mentors to their students. They are renowned scholars and leaders in their fields.

Over the last year, the nearly 300 members of the Holy Cross faculty produced or were involved in more than 330 pieces of professional work, including books, articles, and exhibitions.

Each year, the Dean’s Office compiles a list and celebrates the contributions that Holy Cross professors make to their fields of study. This ongoing scholarship and advancement of their fields also serves to benefit the top-tier classroom teaching, student advising and mentoring that is a hallmark of a Holy Cross education.

Simply added up, the number of works produced in the past academic year is impressive:

  • 27 books
  • 10 abstracts
  • 8 dictionary and encyclopedia
  • 184 articles
  • 18 chapters
  • 22 productions and exhibitions
  • 7 grants
  • 56 reviews
