Photo Gallery: Homecoming 2016, a Weekend of Celebration

Crusaders young and old returned to Mount St. James to celebrate Fall Homecoming 2016 on Sept. 23-24. It was an event-packed weekend of recognition, reconnection, and revelry.

Friday night featured the Holy Cross Alumni Association’s annual dinner, where five alumni were recognized for their exceptional service and dedication to the College. D. Timothy Buckley ’59, P. Kevin Condron ’67, Maureen E. Moran ’89 and Timothy L. Porter ’68 received the In Hoc Signo award, while Sarah A. Brown ’10 was presented with the Young Alumni Leadership Award. The evening ended with a toe-tapping performance by the a cappella group Fools On the Hill, with guest performer Andre Isaacs ’05, assistant professor of chemistry.

Alumni receptions, campus tours, and sporting events kept alumni and their families busy on Saturday. The Goodtime Marching Band fired up the fans when they took over the Hogan Courtyard and performed a pre-game concert. By noon, cars packed Freshman Field. Alumni set up grills, laid out impressive tailgate spreads, and gathered to reminisce and reconnect with one another.

The final celebration of the weekend was hosted by the O’Callahan Society and marked the 75th anniversary of the Navy ROTC program at Holy Cross. The dinner featured keynote speaker Vice Admiral Peter Daly, USN ’77, P15 (Ret.), chief executive director of the U.S. Naval Institute and former deputy commander and chief of staff for U.S. Fleet Forces Command.

The Office of Alumni Relations will once again host alumni, family, and friends at Winter Homecoming on Feb. 25, 2017.
