theatre department was highlighted as one the “Top 10 Most Underrated College Theatre Programs for 2017” in the north east region by OnStage Blog. While institutions like Tisch and Juilliard get plenty of attention, OnStage explains, there are other schools out there doing incredible things in theatre that might not be known on a national level but are deserving of the spotlight.

OnStage specifically noted Holy Cross’ Alternate College Theatre program, highlighting that it offers the opportunity to direct, star in a show, design, work on a stage crew, manage publicity, or get involved with any other aspect of theatrical production.

“The fact that we have caught the attention of the OnStage Blog is testament to the fact that we are accomplishing our pedagogical and artistic goals,” says Edward Isser, professor and chair of the theatre department. “It also confirms that we are ready to take the arts at Holy Cross to an entirely new level. It is time for us to shed our identity as a ‘hidden gem’ and realize our potential to become one of top liberal arts theatre programs in the United States. The Center for the Arts and Creativity will turn that vision into a reality.”
