What does it take to effectively run a non-profit organization?
Twenty-one Holy Cross students found out recently after taking part in the third annual Community and Public Leadership Workshop held on campus.
The workshop, designed for students seeking careers in non-profits, community work, activism, and social change, is an intensive one-week immersion in understanding all facets of a non-profit organization: how to start one up, take it to the next level, and sustain its momentum.
Sponsored by the Donelan Office of Community-Based Learning, the program is conducted entirely by Holy Cross alumni working in various areas of non-profit organizations across the world.
At the completion of the workshop, Molly Normandin ’11, a history major with a Peace and Conflict Studies concentration, Lan Truong ’11, a double major in mathematics and sociology, and Maggie Wright ’11, a premed biology major with an Italian minor, spoke about what they learned in the workshop and how it will help them in their future endeavors.
