Holy Cross’ Alternate College Theatre Presents Picasso at the Lapin Agile

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Alternate College Theatre (ACT) at the College of the Holy Cross presents Picasso at the Lapin Agile, a comedy by Steve Martin, directed by Molly Oliver ’12, Dec. 2-4 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 4-5 at 2 p.m. in Fenwick Theatre (second floor, O’Kane Hall). Tickets are $7 for members of the Holy Cross community and $10 for the general public. Tickets can be reserved by calling the ACT box office at (508)-793-3536.

Set in 1904, three of the 20th-century’s most influential figures, Pablo Picasso (Jack Mason ‘12), Albert Einstein (Christian Krenek ‘12), and Elvis Presley (Jon Martin ‘11) meet by chance in a Paris bar, called the Lapin Agile. Each on the verge of their break-through work, they debate and challenge each other as they discuss the changes they will one day propagate. Accompanied by a neurotic group of bar patrons, these eccentric men from history engage in witty banter and satire, in this hilarious comedy.

ACT is a student-run organization at Holy Cross. In each production, students manage every aspect from directing and acting to lighting and set design. Picasso at the Lapin Agile, is produced by Grant Greeley ‘11; other members of the production staff include set designer Hallie Bianco ’12; lighting designer Molly Bier ’11, and costume designer Katy Hannigan ’12.
