Washington Monthly ranked Holy Cross 39th in their 2011 list of the country's top liberal arts colleges, based on their "contribution to the public good."
Schools were ranked according to three main criteria, including social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research (producing cutting-edge scholarship), and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
