Baseball To Hold "Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day"

On Saturday, April 28, the Holy Cross baseball team will host "Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day" at Fitton Field during its game versus Army at 2 p.m. The game, sponsored by Holy Cross' Cures for Kids and in conjunction with Sherry's House in Worcester, Mass., will feature a ceremonial first pitch thrown out by Christopher Poplawski, a  10-year old boy who was diagnosed with a form of leukemia at age four.

The Holy Cross baseball team has visited Sherry's House and Christopher for over two years. Sherry's House is a place where kids and their families from all over New England can come and receive the support and encouragement they need to fight childhood cancer, together. It proudly serves as Command Central in caring for over 500 existing families, providing them with the social, emotional, logistical, educational, and financial support they need, day in and day out, to overcome childhood cancer.
