Blog: Chin '14 Spends Summer Organizing Volunteer Drive for United Way of Worcester

WHERE SHE’S INTERNING United Way of Central Massachusetts as the Day of Caring program assistant. Day of Caring is an annual volunteer drive where more than 1,000 people work together at local nonprofit agencies to promote volunteerism and leadership.

INTERNSHIP DURATION June 3 to Aug. 9

WHAT SHE’S MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO "Helping plan and organize an event for the community to come together. Being the program assistant will be a great opportunity for me to learn about and connect with different non-profit organizations in Worcester. I am eager to assist in running an event that will have an impact on the entire community and that people enjoy and want to participate in."

WHY SHE’S BLOGGING "To share my experience at United Way with the Holy Cross community. My blog will also be a resource for me to return to in the future to recall both my accomplishments and the lessons I learned during my internship."

CAREER GOAL "I hope to work at a non-profit organization or in education. I plan to work in a position that enables me to connect with and bring together members of all ages in the local community. I want to have a hands-on role in working with the people around me to help them reach their potential."

ABOUT SIP Internships through the College’s Summer Internship Program are developed through the strong network of Holy Cross alumni, parents, and friends throughout the country and are earmarked and designed specifically for Holy Cross students. This year 157 students have internships at 118 sites offered through the program.
