The Holy Cross women's basketball team will open up the 2014 Patriot League Tournament with a quarterfinal matchup at Bucknell on Thursday, March 6 at the Sojka Pavilion at 7 p.m.
The Crusaders are the fifth seed in the tournament, while the Bison are seeded fourth. This will be the 57th meeting between these two schools, with Holy Cross holding the 40-16 series advantage. Bucknell won both regular season contests versus the Crusaders this season on Jan. 11 (83-79, OT) in Worcester and on Feb. 8 (82-79) in Lewisburg. Holy Cross is 14-10 in games played at the Sojka Pavilion. The Crusaders' last victory versus Bucknell came at home on Feb. 23, 2013 (57-49). The first game of this series came on Jan. 15, 1991, as the Crusaders won the contest, 78-59, in Lewisburg. Holy Cross holds the longest winning streak in the series at nine games from Jan. 30, 1993 to Jan. 31, 1996.
