‘Top 100 most influential UK and US universities on Twitter’

Times Higher Education

The College of the Holy Cross was recently ranked for its Twitter presence in a list of the top one hundred universities in the United States and the United Kingdom, by the Times Higher Education. Considering how many people follow each university on Twitter and how many the institution follows, as well as the number of tweets sent out by the institution daily and how many of those are retweeted, Holy Cross fell among the top fifty most influential higher education accounts in America. In the company of large research universities, the College’s “social authority” ranking tied with that of Colgate University, and was surpassed by only two liberal arts schools.

“We believe our success on Twitter can be attributed to the wide range of engaging stories the College has to share — from ground-breaking faculty scholarship to student research to beautiful imagery of campus,” says Christian Santillo, associate director of college marketing and communications for college web communications.  “Our followers, many of whom are members of our student body or loyal alumni network, are enthusiastic about Holy Cross and are eager to retweet and share our content with their followers.”
