Women’s Hockey Wins the NEHC Open Championship in Overtime

The Crusaders take home the championship title with a 4-3 lead over Saint Anselm.

Women’s ice hockey took home the NEHC Open Championship over Saint Anselm in the 2016 Open Tournament Championship game on Feb. 28.

Junior Elizabeth Scala scored the game-winning goal in overtime, earning the victory for Holy Cross with a score of 4-3.

This is the Crusaders’ eighth-straight appearance in the title game and 11th all-time appearance in the championship. This is also the team’s sixth championship, previously winning titles in 2003, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2015.
