Photo Gallery: Alums Return Home to the Hill for 2016 Reunion

Holy Cross reunions are traditionally a time of celebration and reconnection for far-flung friends and this year’s festivities were no different. Over the course of two weekends, more than 2,400 alumni and friends returned to campus.

On the weekend of June 3-5, members of the Classes of 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006, and 2011 returned to Mount St. James for three event-filled days of receptions, picnics, dinners, Masses, golf outings, road races, info sessions — and much storytelling and memory-sharing.

The Class of 1991 celebrated its 25th reunion with a reception and class dinner on Saturday night in the Hogan Ballroom, then gathered with returning alumni from the 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th classes for a late night party on Kimball Quad with food trucks and photo booths.

Reunion Weekend II was held on campus from June 10-12, and included the 50th anniversary of the Commencement of the class of 1966. On Friday night, members of the Class were inducted into the College’s Order of the Purple Knights by President Boroughs at a ceremony in the Hogan Ballroom.

Members of the Classes of 1956, 1961, 1971, 1976, 1981, and 1986 filled Mount St. James with the sounds of laughter and animated discussions over the course of the weekend. And though a sudden rainstorm on Saturday forced the annual picnic into the Field House, spirits could not be dampened, as friends rediscovered one another and caught up. Other events included the Andy Kelly ’17 Memorial Fun Run/Walk, seminars from current faculty members, and a presentation, “Transformation 2020,” on the status of the major building projects of the Become More Campaign.

“Our reunion weekends are always fun, exciting, and moving,” said Kristyn Dyer ’94, director of Alumni Relations. “It’s really an honor to watch that legendary Holy Cross spirit in action, as classmates celebrate the relationships that were formed years ago on the Hill.”
