The last weekend of August on The Hill saw not just one, but two move-in days. First-year students of the Class of 2025 moved in on Saturday, and on Sunday, the Class of 2024 took part in their long-awaited move-in day, which was sidelined last year in the wake of the international pandemic.
The 822 students from the Class of 2025 arrived at Holy Cross from 33 states and 15 countries and territories. The Class is made up of 16% first-generation college students and 23% students of color. Students and their families attended the traditional Mass of the Holy Spirit on Saturday night, where they were welcomed into the community.
In keeping with a longstanding Holy Cross tradition, upperclass student volunteers gathered to welcome new students, carrying boxes, giving directions and helping new Crusaders settle in. Energy was high, reflecting the optimism and hope that students, faculty and staff brought to campus with them for the year ahead.
